Professional integration of people with disabilities

What matters most to us is your skills, talents and willingness to develop. Every employee has an impact on who we are as a company. Regardless of disability! We are developing ERGO Hestia as an organization that is open to development and accessible to all valuable people.

Unfortunately, the Polish labor market still underestimates the potential of people with disabilities. We are doing a lot to change this. Almost three quarters of the more than one hundred people with disabilities who work at ERGO Hestia are highly qualified specialists and professionals.

Activities for the professional integration of people with disabilities

We explain all the complexities of disability in a simple and understandable way, especially the kind of disability that you do not see every day. This is the main objective of the EQUAL information campaign. We have been carrying it out periodically at ERGO Hestia for several years. We talk about the needs and possibilities of people affected by autism spectrum disorder, diabetes, cancer and depression. We have been carrying it out at ERGO Hestia periodically for several years. This is one of the ways in which we support people with disabilities in the workplace. Each person can benefit from additional support to help them function on an equal footing in their professional environment. These are sensitive and individual issues, which is why we value feedback from those who use our program. Every voice can contribute to its development and improvement.

Did you know that ERGO Hestia set up this public benefit organization in 2004? This means it has been working to improve the labor market in Poland for everyone for over two decades.

  • It supports people with disabilities in finding work and ensuring their independence
  • It also helps employers create inclusive workplaces
  • It organizes training and internship programs, e.g. “Capable Internship”


Parental support

Perhaps you don't have children yet, or perhaps you are not planning to have any at the moment. These are private decisions and issues for you to consider. However, rest assured that no matter what the future holds, you can count on support at work. Every mum and dad should have their employer on their side.

Without having to worry about employment or working hours, it is easier to take on the challenges of parenthood. At ERGO Hestia, the topic of reconciling family and professional roles has always been close to our hearts. We understand how important it is to spend quality time with children, whether they are young or growing up.

Activities to support parents

ERGO Hestia employees, Sebastian and Agnieszka, are the ambassadors of a campaign through which we are redefining parenthood. We ran the campaign under the slogan 'Mum Dad Time – Partnership Parenting' to encourage young parents to share the care of their child from the very beginning.

Specifically, we:

  • we introduced the 'Start Month' — a new benefit for ERGO Hestia's male and female employees, whereby they can work only four hours a day for the first month after returning from childcare leave and still receive full pay,
  • we organized webinars aimed at managers to build awareness and promote good practices in terms of parents' rights,
  • we published expert articles on home and parenting partnerships on the intranet. These articles showed, among other things, the psychological impact that the presence of both parents has on a child in their earliest moments of life,
  • we became a partner of the "Full-Time Dad" podcast and had an article published in MyCompany called "Mum Dad Time".


Gender equality

If you believe that women and men should have equal rights in the labor market, you will thrive at ERGO Hestia. For us, gender equality is a non-negotiable issue that we have been putting into practice for a long time. Need examples? Almost half of our management team is female.

Action for gender equality

See how we dispel myths associated with so-called male and female jobs. As part of a campaign called “WOmen in Data Science”, we told the stories of specific female analysts employed at ERGO Hestia. We ran this campaign in 2021. We are committed to breaking down stereotypes systematically.

What else are we doing:

  • We raise awareness of the impact of language on gender perceptions. As part of the 'Feminatives = Equal Perspectives' campaign, we published a dictionary of male and female job titles in 2023. This emphasises the free choice of male and female employees regarding the forms they wish to use.
  • We promote the prevention of health issues affecting women and men, including through the “October-Pink Ribbon Month” and “Movember” campaigns.
  • We promote solutions for engaged parenting by mothers and fathers as part of the aforementioned 'Mum Dad Time – Partner Parenting' campaign.


Mental health prevention

Perhaps you are about to embark on your first job with us. Or perhaps you are starting a new chapter in your career. Either way, work is an important part of everyday life at every stage of life and affects mental health. According to figures from the Ministry of

Health, one in four people between the ages of 18 and 64 already has at least one mental disorder. We attach great importance to this topic. We support our employees so that they can strike the best possible work-life balance.

Activities for the prevention of mental health issues

'How are you? 'February is Mental Health Month' is the slogan of the campaign that we have been running since 2022. We are encouraging ERGO Hestia employees to pay attention to their well-being, recognize any concerning signs, and seek support when needed.

Help from a psychologist or psychiatrist should be accessible and non-judgemental. To this end, free tele-consultations are available for male and female employees throughout February.

What else do we do?

  • We listen to the needs of Hestia’s employeed - from their initiative that we organized a webinar on adolescent mental health.
  • We provide ongoing access to psychological and psychiatric counselling within the limits of the medical services at the Health Marina.


Volunteering commitment

By working with us, you can have a real impact at every step of the way. You can change the world for the better! We know it sounds a bit highbrow, but there are plenty of opportunities in the ERGO Hestia community to do good things together.

We often talk about it. We listen to our colleagues' ideas. Inspired by a project, we devise another one. Many of the initiatives we undertake originate from the ground up and find fertile ground at ERGO Hestia.
